Weight, warmth and pressure are the three things people reach for when a body will not settle at night. All three tend to fail in the same place — you can feel the machine inside them. AERÉ makes five things in this range, and the rule for every one of them is that the hardware should be the part you cannot find with your hand.

“You can feel the thing inside it.” Heat you can trace wire by wire, weight that has slid into one corner, a neck cradle that turns out to be a hard plastic shell. This runs across the whole category, and the answer is structure and fabric, not features. AERÉ Anchor is weighted, but built to breathe — layers instead of one hot sheet. AERÉ Cozy spreads even heat across a throw. AERÉ Stretch is a pillow: gentle traction before bed, not a treatment device. How firm that pillow is, what the layers are made of, and how the quilting is laid out will be printed once the factory puts them in writing — not before.

“My weighted blanket cooks me.” The complaint that comes up most with weighted blankets, and the reason plenty of them are in a cupboard by February. AERÉ Anchor is weighted, but built to breathe — layers instead of one hot sheet. The number of layers, the fill and the weight options will be printed once the factory puts them in writing. We do not print a body-weight formula, because we have not found one we are willing to stand behind.

“The heated throw switches off at three and I wake up freezing.” Fixed timers are the most complained-about thing about electric throws: long enough to fall asleep under, too short to stay asleep under. AERÉ Cozy spreads even heat across a throw, with an auto-off you can trust. How long it will run, and whether it can be set for the whole night, will be printed once the factory puts it in writing. If it cannot run the whole night, we will say so on the page rather than let you find out in the dark.

“It’s either too fierce on bare skin or too weak to feel at all.” Massagers are asked to be two things at once and usually manage neither: enough pressure to register, not so much that it rubs you raw. AERÉ Ease is kneading heat for the two muscles that hold a day at a desk. How many intensity steps it has, and whether a cloth barrier comes in the box instead of you adding a towel, will be printed once the factory puts it in writing.

“It pulls my hair, and it’s loud enough to keep me awake.” With electric scalp massagers this comes up more than anything else — including from people who wrapped their head first. AERÉ Flow is scalp release for the tension you carry in your forehead. Whether the contact points are shaped so they do not catch long hair, and how quiet it runs, will be printed once the factory puts it in writing. Until then that line stays blank rather than filled in.

Choose by which end of the night you are trying to fix: too hot, too cold, or a body that will not let go. A weight that breathes, a throw that warms and switches itself off, a pillow for a short spell of traction before bed, kneading heat for the shoulders, and a quiet one for the scalp.

None of this is a medical device, and none of it treats anything. It is weight, warmth and pressure, at a level you choose, for the hour before bed.

We only list a product once we have a supplier, a price we can stand behind and photographs of the actual unit. Everything in body is still at the drawing stage, so there is nothing here to buy and nothing to photograph yet. Join the list and we will write when the first one is real.
