Scenario · 6 things

Awake in the middle

AERÉ makes six things for the middle of the night — the part where you are awake and the room is not, and everything you would normally reach for has to be found, switched on or asked for. Nothing here needs a light to be found by.

Where you are

It is 3:14 and you were asleep. Now you are not. The room has not changed, but something in it is suddenly too loud, too bright or too warm, and you are lying still so as not to wake the other person.

What you actually want

To get back without turning anything on, checking the time or starting a conversation about it. The shorter the distance between awake and asleep, the better the night.

What changes in the room

Sound that is already running. A mask already on your eyes. A room you can cross without a light. AERÉ builds this end of the range for someone half awake: Diamond plays without a loop to notice, Slip goes in without looking, Air keeps its cup off your eyes so you can blink without holding your lids shut, Dream dims to nothing on its own, and Calm has no light on it to switch off. Cozy warms and switches itself off — how long it runs on a setting will be printed once the factory puts it in writing.
