Scenario · 3 things

A morning that starts right

AERÉ makes three things for the hour you wake into — a sunrise that comes up slowly, an amber light and a machine that plays over the street. The point is not to wake you earlier. It is to make the waking the last thing that happens rather than the first.

Where you are

The alarm goes off and the room goes from black to a phone screen in one second. You are awake before you know where you are, and the first thing you feel all day is being interrupted.

What you actually want

To be woken by something that came up slowly, or by something that covered the street instead of announcing it. Either way, not by a jolt.

What changes in the room

Light first, sound second. Dawn comes up slowly and goes the other way at night. Ember is amber at a level you can sleep beside, so the room is never fully black and never fully on. Diamond plays over the traffic before you have to hear it. AERÉ does not claim any of this changes how you sleep — it changes what the first minute of the day is made of.
